Assistant Quantity Surveyor - SC Clearance

Location: HM Naval Base, Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth

Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday

Your Role Includes:

Pre-Construction

• Preparing and issuing tender enquiries
• Reviewing tender returns for accuracy and value
• Creating cost estimates (ROCs) for proposed works
• Supporting scope and pricing document development
• Engaging with suppliers for competitive tenders

Commercial Reporting & Risk

• Assisting with monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Monitoring budgets and flagging issues
• Updating risk registers with commercial insights
• Supporting post-project reviews

Live Project Delivery

• Supporting projects from award to completion
• Preparing and submitting payment applications
• Managing change control and subcontract orders
• Tracking costs, budgets, and cash flows

What We're Looking For:

Essential Skills

• Experience in QS, commercial, procurement, or project support
• Understanding of tendering and commercial documentation
• Strong communication and numeracy skills
• Organised and deadline-driven
• Proficient in MS Excel & Word

Desirable Extras

• Experience with MOD contracts or secure sites
• Familiar with CAFM systems
• Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts
• Interest in project management
• Studying towards QS qualifications (HNC, degree, RICS)

Important Requirement:

It is essential that candidates have a 5-year checkable work history in the UK. This is a mandatory requirement due to the nature of the site and will be verified during the recruitment process.
