Job Title: Construction & Casualty Underwriter

Location: Colchester or London (Hybrid, 2 days in office)

Salary: £45,000 – £75,000 (depending on experience)

Role Summary:

You'll be part of a growing team focused on retaining and acquring profitable growth through delegated authority underwriting. With a hands-on culture and flexible hybrid setup, this is a great role for underwriters with MGA or Lloyd’s backgrounds seeking strong exposure and career development. Expect a varied workload and a team that values adaptability, collaboration, and ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Underwrite new and renewal construction/casualty risks under binding authorities: contribute directly to portfolio profitability

• Handle mid-term adjustments and ensure high standards in documentation and compliance

• Build and sustain strong broker and internal relationships: represent the business confidently

• Support operational workflows including manual processes where needed

• Maintain accurate and compliant record keeping across all transactions

Requirements:

• Underwriting experience in Construction, Casualty, or Liability lines

• Background in an MGA or Lloyd’s environment, with experience handling heavier trade or waste risks

• Strong understanding of delegated authority and binding guidelines

• A working knowledge of legal and regulatory Insurance framework.

• Able to work manually with durable workflows.

• Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
