Job description
Steele Charles are delighted to be have been retained with a leading UK renewable energy developer on the appointment of a Legal Counsel to join their Edinburgh-based team.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development of large-scale wind, hydrogen and grid infrastructure projects that are central to the UK’s transition to net zero. You will join a high-growth, forward-thinking business making a tangible impact on the future of clean energy.
The Role
As Legal Counsel (minimum 2PQE), you will provide commercially focused legal support across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy and infrastructure projects. Working closely with the General Counsel and senior leadership, you will:
- Advise on corporate, commercial, real estate and energy sector transactions
- Manage due diligence for acquisitions and disposals
- Draft, review and negotiate complex agreements and term sheets
- Coordinate work with external counsel, ensuring quality, consistency and value
- Provide insight on project development, regulation and compliance
- Support board and executive teams with practical, risk-based legal advice
- Contribute to the development of legal templates, training and best practice
About You
- Qualified solicitor (minimum 2 years PQE) with corporate or commercial experience
- Strong communication, drafting and analytical skills
- Pragmatic, solutions-driven and commercially astute
- Confident advising senior stakeholders and collaborating across functions
