Health & Safety Advisor – 30k Salary – 3 days per week – Permanent Contract

My client is a specialist carpentry contractor delivering high-quality residential new build projects across Sussex. With a reputation for craftsmanship, reliability, and safety, they work with leading developers and construction partners to bring homes to life. As they grow, they are looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team and help them maintain the highest standards on site.


Role Overview


As a Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation across all their residential new build sites. You’ll conduct regular site visits, produce RAMS, deliver toolbox talks, and provide clear, practical guidance to site teams. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.


Key Responsibilities


· Conduct regular site inspections and audits across multiple projects

· Develop and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)

· Produce detailed site visit reports and follow up on corrective actions

· Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings to site operatives

· Monitor compliance with health and safety legislation and company procedures

· Support site managers with incident investigations and reporting

· Liaise with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies as required

· Keep up to date with industry best practices and legislative changes


Requirements


· NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)

· Proven experience in a construction-based health and safety role

· Strong working knowledge of residential new build environments

· Confident delivering toolbox talks and engaging with site teams

· Excellent communication and report-writing skills

· Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Sussex
