Demand Planner

Alexander Steele is recruiting a Demand Planner to join a well-established and fast-growing food business based in Northamptonshire. You will be responsible for forecasting demand, optimising inventory levels, and ensuring smooth production planning. There will be opportunity to analyse market trends and historical data to create accurate demand forecasts that support business objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Build excellent working relationship with commercial, marketing and finance team members.
• Monitor demand trends, identify risks in supply fluctuations, and implement mitigation plans to maintain service continuity.
• Develop and align short, medium, and long-term demand forecasts with business goals in partnership with key stakeholders.
• Analyse forecast accuracy by tracking demand vs. Forecast, highlighting variances, and driving corrective actions.
• Report on KPIs including forecast bias, accuracy, and forecast value add (FVA) to support S&OP and continuous improvement.

Background Experience:

• 4+ years experience in demand planning roles, ideally within a food environment.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in demand planning software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Experience leading change/integration projects
• Must have a strong understanding of S&OP processes and demand planning factors.
• Excellent Microsoft Office Excel skills.
• Excellent ability to communicate with stakeholders across various levels.
