Health & Safety Advisor – Construction

Reading (covering Wiltshire, West London & Hampshire)

Permanent | Up to £50k + benefits

Are you a proven Health & Safety professional with strong construction experience? This is your chance to join a respected consultancy with 30+ years in the industry, delivering practical, on-site safety solutions for some of the UK’s biggest retail and pub operators.

What You’ll Do

As a Health & Safety Advisor, you’ll be on the ground ensuring compliance, driving best practice, and safeguarding workers across fast-track retail refurbishments and construction projects. You’ll split your time between site visits and remote working, giving you both variety and flexibility.

• Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments
• Lead accident investigations and implement preventative measures
• Advise on CDM Regs 2015 compliance
• Deliver health & safety training to staff and subcontractors
• Keep safety policies and procedures up to date and effective

What We’re Looking For

We want someone who can hit the ground running with:

• Proven experience in construction health & safety (retail/fit-out/refurb preferred)
• Solid knowledge of H&S legislation and CDM Regs 2015
• NEBOSH Construction Certificate (Diploma desirable)
• At least Tech IOSH membership
• Strong communication skills to influence site teams and management
• Flexibility to travel, occasional overnights, and out-of-hours inspections
