Head of Technical – Food Manufacturing

East Midlands - Hybrid

£85,000 - £100,000 + package

Are you a visionary technical leader with the passion and expertise to shape the future of food safety and quality? Our client, a leading name in food manufacturing, is seeking a Head of Technical to drive excellence, champion innovation, and build a best-in-class culture across their multi-site operation.

As the strategic guardian of all things quality, safety, and compliance, you’ll influence at senior management level, inspire talented teams, and partner with major retail customers to deliver products of outstanding integrity and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and deliver the group technical strategy, aligning with business goals, regulatory standards, and customer expectations to ensure industry-leading food safety performance.
• Lead and inspire multi-site technical teams, embedding a culture of accountability, growth, and continuous improvement through coaching-led leadership.
• Champion customer partnerships, building strong, multi-level technical relationships that enhance trust, transparency, and long-term collaboration.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Commercial, Operations, NPD, Procurement, and Supply Chain to develop innovative technical solutions that drive value and efficiency.
• Ensure best-in-class compliance, leading governance of HACCP, allergen control, traceability, and certification schemes such as BRCGS.
• Oversee technical readiness for innovation, ensuring flawless delivery of new product launches, process changes, and capital projects.
• Act as the voice of technical excellence, representing the business during audits, inspections, and strategic customer forums while influencing at the highest level.
• Stay ahead of emerging trends and legislation, turning insight into proactive strategies that secure competitive advantage and long-term sustainability.

What you'll need:

• Proven track record at Head of Technical or Senior Technical Manager level within food manufacturing
• Experience supply high quality products directly into retailers
• Full technical management of end to end supply chains
• Experience at senior management level
• Full UK working rights
