Assistant Underwriter (Property OR Casualty) - Chelmsford/ Essex - Hybrid working - Up to £35-£40k + Bonus + Package

Job description

Hawksworth are now hiring for an Underwriter (Property and/ or Casualty) for a global Insurer based in Chelmsford Essex. This is a Permanent position, hybrid working (1 or 2 days per week on site) with a salary range depending on skill level & experience of up to £35K -£40K+ excellent package including bonus. This is a great opportunity to join a global commercial Insurer.

About you:

You will be used to building and developing successful Broker relationships. You will be visible in the insurance market and enjoy face-to-face contact with brokers and customers. You will be happy to support & guide colleagues on lower licence levels, signing off referrals and working on quality assurance. You will find ways to collaborate with other departments to achieve teams & company goals.

Essential Skills:

• Technical underwriting skills in commercial property and/or casualty (ideally already at a senior level)
• Proven track record of dealing with large and/or complex risks
• Capable of leveraging data and analytics
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Excellent trading skills and a confident negotiator. Proven experience in handling large cases
• Strong ability to build, develop and maintain broker relationships
• Achievement orientated, able to organise own workload to meet tight deadlines and with a positive attitude
• ACII qualified or progression towards
• Full working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
