Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Planning & Logistics Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient management of our supply chain processes, from procurement to order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of logistics operations, including inventory management, transportation planning, and warehouse distribution. The Planning & Logistics Specialist will be responsible for the administration of all transactional processes within Javelin (MRP) and supporting systems to maintain order book integrity and shop order planning spanning the order input to shipment invoice cycle.

A key deliverable of this role is to provide a consistent, flexible and responsive service to our customers at all times. Working closely with the operations team the Planning & Logistics Specialist will lead logistical process improvement supporting the overall site growth and customer service objectives.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and improve the order book management process ensuring all sales & production orders are loaded to Javelin (MRP) and corresponding acknowledgements to customers demand portals.
  • Plan and release shop order requirements in line with MRP and/or level scheduling requirements.
  • Compile Production documentation in preparation for launching to shop floor; including Job cards, customer drawings / specs and other documents as required.
  • Proactive tracking and updating of production work orders according to latest schedule changes.
  • Support the Customer Service Lead in raising dispatch documentation including Delivery notes, Invoices, Certificates of Conformity and customer shipping documentation.


Requirements

  • Proven experience in Production related administration experience, including a very good understanding of the need for accuracy and full traceability and accountability. Commercial awareness & professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, Flexible & able to work on own initiative but willing to work as a team to achieve objectives of division.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and tools.
  • Proficient in using transactional management systems, MRP/ Production Control systems, or ERP systems
  • Excellent data analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex information for decision-making.
  • Good working knowledge of MRP
  • Experience of working in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure
  • A flexible approach to the role to meet changing business demands which may include overtime attendance to support the team achieve their targets.
  • Active listening skills with the ability to understand and interpret business priorities.
