Controls Systems Programmer
Location: Bedfordshire / MK44 – Flexible with occasional onsite presence
Contract Length: Start ASAP, until end of March 2026 (potential 1 or 2-months extension for handover)
Exciting contract opportunity offering CIRCA £500 a day (DOE)
Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Controls Systems Programmer to join on a contract basis, supporting the delivery of two critical automation projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable engineer to work alongside a Senior Engineer, contributing directly to the development phase of two CODESYS-based control systems.
The work is well-defined and ready to progress, and your role will be focussing on hands-on development of control systems. This is a position where you can start soon and make an immediate impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and implement PLC and HMI software using CODESYS.
 - Collaborate with a Senior Engineer to deliver two control system projects.
 - Work on Bosch BODAS controller integration and related functionality.
 - Support commissioning and validation phases as required.
 - Contribute to documentation and project handover materials.
 
Essential Experience
- Proven experience in PLC and HMI development.
 - Strong working knowledge of CODESYS.
 - Hands-on experience with Bosch BODAS controllers.
 
Desired Knowledge, but not essential
- Understanding of temperature control loops.
 - Previous experience working in defence or on military projects
