Flutter Technical Lead in City of London

Job description

I'm looking for a Flutter Technical Lead to take ownership of a mobile development function. In this role, you’ll combine hands-on coding with strategic leadership, guiding the team in building scalable, high-performance mobile apps using Flutter.

My end client is a B2B SaaS business that are both well-backed & established but still have an engineering function that operates much like an agile start-up.

Technical Leadership & Delivery

• Own the technical direction and architecture of all mobile applications
• Break down business requirements into clear, actionable implementation tasks
• Write clean, efficient, and testable code in Dart using Flutter
• Enforce secure coding practices and modern architectural standards
• Lead code reviews, maintain high test coverage, and ensure app performance

Team & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Mentor and support engineers through 1:1s and technical guidance
• Proactively remove blockers and help the team stay focused on priorities
• Represent the mobile team in senior technical meetings and planning sessions

What You Bring

• 4/5+ years commercial experience with Flutter
• 1+ years leading technical teams of 3-5 (will consider mentorship experience)
• Deep Flutter expertise: architecture, state management, testing, deployment
• Solid backend integration (REST, WebSockets, microservices)
• Experience with Firebase, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines

This role can offer up to £100,000, requires 4-days per week onsite in central London, and is made up of a 3-stage interview process.
