Location: Dorking, Surrey

Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Thursday: Start at 6:00 or 7:00 AM, finish at 2:30 or 3:30 PM,

Friday: 5-hour day, finish at 11:00 AM or 12:00 PM


An established manufacturer of precision equipment is seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their team in Dorking, Surrey.


The Role

This is a hands-on fabrication position producing high-quality components and assemblies to tight tolerances. Working primarily with thin-gauge aluminium (0.5mm – 2mm), you’ll take parts from raw material through to finished assemblies. The role offers long-term stability, a supportive team, and excellent working hours.


Key Responsibilities

  • Fabricate and assemble precision sheet metal components
  • Spot welding and use of guillotine and notching machines
  • Folding using press brakes, including developing flat patterns
  • Operation of manual box folding and rolling equipment
  • Drilling and tapping using bench drills
  • Brake press operation (shaping and bending sheet aluminium)
  • Fettling and finishing components to precision tolerances


Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication of precision equipment
  • Skilled in working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards
  • Competent in multiple fabrication processes (e.g. Guillotine, brake press, welding, fettling, drilling, manual box folding and rolling)
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or collaboratively
  • Strong understanding of aluminium fabrication best practices
