Job description

Walker Group provides advanced, high-precision manufacturing services from centres of excellence located in the UK and Poland. We’re expanding our Glasgow team and are looking for skilled CNC Machinists across a range of disciplines.

Disciplines required are:


  • CNC Turning
  • CNC Milling (5 Axis & Horizontal)
  • CNC Grinding


CNC Machinist Key Responsibilities:


  • Oversee Machinery set-up and operate machines
  • Loading materials and unloading finished products
  • Adjust speeds, cutter paths and other machine settings as required
  • Follow technical drawings working to customer tolerances
  • Carefully follow procedures and safety guidelines. Including company procedures, operating standards, and process documentation
  • Maintain an accurate log of production and equipment problems, adjustments, and repairs. Machine inspections for mechanical or safety issues
  • Ensure machines are well stocked with tools and material to ensure limited downtime
  • Safety focus to ensure themselves and others are safe around operational machinery
  • Flexibility to support production requirements during busier periods


CNC Machinist Qualifications & Experience:


  • Time served CNC Machinist
  • Experience in Turning, Grinding, Horizontal Milling or 5-Axis Milling machines
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience of working to high quality standards on precision components
  • Knowledge of safety and manufacturing regulations and procedures

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
