About the Role

We’re looking for a motivated and compassionate Outreach Home Energy Advisor to work on the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) project.

As a Home Energy Advisor, you’ll work directly with households to help them reduce energy bills, stay warm and healthy, and access free energy-saving support. You’ll visit residents in their homes, offering practical tips and helping people apply for grants and assistance schemes.

This is a rewarding role where you’ll make a real difference to people’s lives while supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out home visits to assess household energy use and provide tailored guidance.
  • Offer practical advice on reducing energy consumption, managing bills, and improving home comfort.
  • Support residents in accessing financial help such as the Warm Home Discount, Priority Services Register, and local hardship funds.
  • Identify and refer clients for additional LEAP services, including free small energy-saving measures (LED bulbs, draught proofing, radiator panels), boiler checks, or income maximisation support.
  • Maintain accurate client records and submit regular progress reports.
  • Work closely with local councils, housing associations, and community organisations to reach vulnerable households.
  • Attend local events and outreach activities to promote the LEAP service.

About You

  • Ideally a qualified Domestic Energy Assessor or hold a relevant Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification (but not essential for the right candidate).
  • Knowledge of domestic energy efficiency, tariffs, and household energy-saving measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – confident engaging with people from all backgrounds.
  • Own an iPad or Android tablet
  • Organised and proactive, with good attention to detail.
  • Able to work independently and manage your own appointments.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • A DBS check will be required before starting.
  • Public liability insurance

What We Offer

  • Up to 15 Home visits per week (max 3 per day)
  • Fantastic earning potential
  • Flexible working arrangements.
  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to your community and the environment.
