- Support quantum research and development: Contribute to quantum computing research projects, exploring algorithms, frameworks, and applications with potential impact across the bank.
- Apply theory to practice: Develop and prototype practical quantum solutions to address complex computational and optimisation problems
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with the AI and data science teams on research, internal communications, and training related to emerging quantum technologies.
- Stay ahead of the curve: Explore advancements in quantum algorithms, hardware platforms, and hybrid quantum–classical approaches, helping the organisation prepare for future quantum advantage.
- Engage with innovation partners: Collaborate with academic and research institutions to contribute to the wider quantum computing community.
Candidate Profile:
- Advanced academic background in Quantum Computing, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science (PhD or MSc).
- Experience (academic or early career) working on quantum algorithms, gate model computing, or hybrid quantum–classical systems.
- Strong technical and hands-on mindset, comfortable building prototypes, running experiments, and writing code.
- Familiarity with quantum SDKs (e.g. Qiskit, Cirq, Braket, or PennyLane).
- Curiosity and adaptability to work in an emerging technology area with limited precedent.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to non-specialists.
What This Role Offers:
- The opportunity to work in a greenfield environment, shaping how quantum computing is applied within a global investment bank.
- A collaborative and forward-thinking team culture, blending AI, data science, and innovation disciplines.
- The chance to build practical experience at the intersection of quantum technology and real-world finance, with mentorship from experienced technologists and researchers.
- Exposure to global stakeholders, research partnerships, and cutting-edge innovation initiatives.
