THE POSITION


The role focuses on delivering profitable growth through strategic customer partnerships in the UK and Ireland's egg and poultry production sectors. It requires a field-based approach with frequent travel. We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is comfortable working autonomously and collaboratively, with the ability to understand and deliver on customer needs, in a mutually beneficial way, to position Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health as a key partner.

• Strategic account management: The position involves implementing national and local account plans, managing stakeholders, and using multi-channel communication to meet sales and market share targets while maintaining budget discipline.

• Customer relationship development: The role requires building deep knowledge of customer businesses, providing training and practical support for vaccination programs, and offering value-added services to differentiate the company's offerings.

• Professional requirements and workplace culture: Experience in the egg and poultry industry is preferred, along with skills in planning, influencing, and relationship building.


This is a national role covering the UK and Ireland. Ideally, candidates will be based in Central England or within one of the key regions for egg and poultry production.

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Exceptional stakeholder management and in-depth understanding of customer businesses across veterinary and producer accounts will drive effective implementation of strategic and national account plans, as well as developing effective local account strategies collaboratively with marketing and technical teams.


Working cross-functionally, information regarding the market, competitor activities and customer feedback on products and promotions should be shared and used to provide accurate and timely forecasts (volume and net sales), improved support services and to optimise resource planning.


Key objectives include:

• Achieving net sales and market share targets within budget.

• Track progress against budget and respond quickly to identified gaps.

• Driving profit and evaluating return on investments, including value add services.

• Maintaining high customer service levels, provide practical support to veterinary and producer clients with vaccination programs, audits and equipment servicing on farm.

• Identify opportunities to develop and implement value added services, which differentiate the value proposition, to support the vaccine portfolio.

• Continuous market intelligence sharing, maintenance of technical, commercial and competitor product knowledge and associated disease areas.

• Accurate and timely forecasting.

• Build strategic customer business plans, including the customer’s business profile, key stakeholders, competition, business processes, culture, technology, political environment and strategies. Keep the plan up to date in relevant CRM system and share with team members and management as appropriate.


REQUIREMENTS

• Experience of working in the egg and poultry Industry

• Previous experience in a specialised account management, sales or technical selling role is desirable but not essential as training will be provided

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Highly competent at organising and planning

• Strong influencing and analytical skills

• Demonstrable ability to build strong relationships

• Connects well with other team members and wants to work as “one team” with shared objectives

• Adaptable to change
