About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Shopper Marketing to lead the development and execution of shopper-centric strategies that connect leading Consumer Healthcare (CHC) brands with consumers at the point of purchase. Based in Reading, this position offers a unique opportunity to shape how these brands perform across pharmacy, retail, and eCommerce channels.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute shopper marketing strategies tailored to UK retail and pharmacy environments, aligned with brand and commercial goals.
  • Lead the design and deployment of high-impact POS materials, displays, and promotional assets across channels.
  • Partner with sales and key account teams to deliver compelling trade stories and activation plans that drive sell-in and sell-through.
  • Leverage shopper, consumer, and channel data to inform strategies and optimise performance.
  • Manage and develop a team of shopper marketing specialists and trade activation managers.
  • Oversee shopper marketing budgets, ensuring efficient resource allocation and ROI tracking.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including brand managers, digital marketing, supply chain, and regulatory, to ensure seamless execution.
  • Support innovation and new product launches, ensuring shopper relevance and retail readiness.


Qualifications

  • High level of experience in shopper or trade marketing, ideally within CHC, OTC, FMCG, or retail sectors.
  • Proven success in leading POS and retail activation strategies across pharmacy and grocery channels.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and delivering ROI.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience with eCommerce and omnichannel shopper journeys is a plus.


Preferred Skills

  • Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Category Management certification (e.g., GS1) is advantageous.
  • Experience in a matrixed, fast-paced organisation undergoing transformation.
