Interim FMCG Legal Counsel

(Hybrid – 3 days office, 2 days WFH)

3–6 months

Start: November

A leading global confectionery and snacks business is seeking an Interim Legal Counsel to provide support to its UK & Ireland Legal team during a period of internal transition.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Legal (UK & Ireland), you’ll work closely with commercial, procurement, and marketing teams to provide pragmatic, business-focused legal support.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise Marketing and Brand teams on campaigns, promotions, and advertising materials- ensuring compliance with CAP/ASA codes, consumer protection law, and internal policies.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts including supply, procurement, and R&D agreements.
• Support the Sales team on customer agreements, including advice on competition law and delivery of compliance training.
• Partner with global and regional stakeholders to assess and manage legal and operational risks across the business.

About You

• Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales)
• Previous experience in-house FMCG, consumer goods, or retail.
• Strong commercial contracts and marketing law experience.
• Confident operating in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, balancing multiple priorities.
• Collaborative, solutions-oriented, and commercially astute.
