Reporter

We are looking for a Reporter to join Citywire’s highly motivated and ambitious editorial team. London-based, this reporter will break exclusive news, interview major figures and deliver insightful analysis for our audience of financial advisers.

We’re looking for a driven individual who can build strong relationships with contacts and meet tight deadlines with creative and original stories (not regurgitate press releases).


What you’ll be doing:

-Contribute to our online daily news service by sourcing stories and interviewing key figures in the financial advice and wider investment space.

-Grow a contact book of key people in the advice and investment world by networking and interviewing people.

-Cover a wide array of topics, including investment trends and how they impact client portfolios and what is going on at financial planning businesses.

-Break original and exclusive news that matters for advisers and the wider investment world.


What we’re looking for:

-Ambition & Curiosity: A natural curiosity and desire to learn about the financial sector and to develop new reporting skills. A prior knowledge or interest in investments or finance is preferred, but not essential.

-Strong Communication skills: You have the ability to build rapport with contacts, ask the right questions, and explain complex topics clearly and effectively.

-Enthusiasm for data: You will be comfortable working with numbers and be interested in developing your skills to pitch and develop data-led stories about investing and the advice market.

-Fast-Paced Environment: You are comfortable working to tight deadlines and can thrive in a fast-paced news environment.

-Self-Starter: You can work independently, chase news leads, and break important stories that matter to our audience of financial advisers.
