Job description

On behalf or our client, a Bermuda Law Firm, we are looking for a Senior Litigation Attorney to join their team. The candidate must have Insolvency and Commercial Litigation experience, as a Barrister. The successful candidate will lead complex litigation matters, appear in court, provide strategic advice to clients, and mentor junior lawyers within the department.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as lead counsel in commercial litigation and insolvency matters, including appearances in superior courts and tribunals.
  • Advise clients on all aspects of dispute resolution, including risk management, strategy, and settlement.
  • Draft and review pleadings, submissions, affidavits, and other court documents.
  • Manage and conduct trials, hearings, and mediations independently.
  • Provide expert advice on corporate insolvency, bankruptcy, and restructuring matters.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, and experts to ensure efficient and effective case preparation.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers and paralegals within the litigation team.
  • Contribute to business development and client relationship management initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant case law, legislation, and procedural rules.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Admitted as a Barrister (or equivalent) with current practicing certificate.
  • 5+ years’ post-admission experience in commercial litigation and insolvency.
  • Proven advocacy experience in superior courts and tribunals.
  • Strong technical knowledge of insolvency law, corporate disputes, and commercial contracts.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value matters independently.
  • Exceptional legal drafting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management abilities.
  • Team-oriented approach with leadership and mentoring experience.
