In-House Property Lawyer – Residential Focus in City of London

Montresor Legal is looking for an In-House Property Lawyer – Residential Focus in City of London

Job description

A forward-thinking property management business is seeking an experienced In-House Property solicitor to join its growing legal team. The company manages significant leasehold portfolios and works closely with landlords, developers, and leaseholders on a broad range of property matters.

You’ll provide legal and practical advice across a diverse portfolio, handling a mix of residential property and leasehold issues. This is a varied position offering exposure to both advisory and contentious work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising on day-to-day residential property matters across large leasehold portfolios

• Supporting on disputes (service charge, repair obligations, enfranchisement, right to manage, and First-tier Tribunal matters)

• Assisting with Building Safety Act (BSA) issues, leaseholder protections, and related compliance

• Reviewing and managing external legal advice where required

• Working closely with asset management, property, and operations teams to ensure practical, risk-based solutions

We’re looking for a solicitor with strong residential property knowledge and the confidence to advise on a range of landlord and tenant matters.

You will have:

• A solid grounding in residential property law (ideally within private practice or in-house)

• Some exposure to property disputes and leasehold issues

• Awareness or working knowledge of BSA/leaseholder protection matters

• The ability to manage a varied workload and communicate clearly with non-lawyers

This role offers the chance to work directly with senior legal and operational stakeholders in a dynamic, collaborative environment. You’ll be joining a friendly team that values practical, business-focused advice and encourages professional development.
