The Role:


We are seeking a Production Team Leader to supervise and coordinate day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring products are built, tested, and delivered to the highest standards. You’ll lead a team of skilled operators in a hands-on role, driving performance, efficiency, and quality within a fast-paced production environment.


Key Responsibilities as the Production Team Leader


  • Oversee all production activities — from material receipt to final assembly, testing, and delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, safety requirements, and quality standards.
  • Support assembly and test activities when required, ensuring continuous workflow.
  • Monitor output, quality, cost, and health & safety performance against targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and eliminate waste.
  • Conduct team briefings and performance reviews, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Manage material shortages and liaise with procurement and stores to maintain supply continuity.
  • Lead Tier 1 meetings and escalate key issues to management where appropriate.


Skills & Experience Required


You’re a proactive and motivated team leader with experience in a manufacturing or production environment. You take pride in maintaining high standards, empowering your team, and delivering operational excellence.


Essential:


  • A-Level / BTEC qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience in manufacturing or production operations.
  • Proven ability to supervise or coordinate a team.
  • Computer literate – proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
  • Strong awareness of safety, quality, and compliance standards (e.g. IPC-A-610, ESD, FOD).


Desirable:


  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly and test processes.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles.
