The Opportunity

As a Bridging Underwriter, you’ll manage your own portfolio of bridging finance cases from application through to completion — driving deals forward, ensuring quality underwriting, and maintaining strong relationships across all stakeholders.

You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional service to brokers and clients while safeguarding lending quality and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and manage the full lending process from initial enquiry through to drawdown.
• Underwrite a live pipeline of bridging cases, balancing speed, accuracy, and risk management.
• Ensure every case aligns with internal lending criteria and regulatory standards.
• Liaise effectively with brokers, solicitors, valuers, and internal teams to ensure a smooth process.
• Instruct solicitors post-offer and oversee documentation to completion.
• Apply sound commercial judgment, identifying opportunities to add value while managing risk.
• Support a collaborative, solutions-driven team culture.

About You

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience underwriting bridging and/or development finance cases.
• In-depth understanding of FCA regulation and responsible lending principles (CeMAP desirable).
• Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional time management.
• Confident communication skills — able to challenge, influence, and problem-solve effectively.
• A calm, resilient approach with the ability to perform under pressure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
