Quantity Surveyor / Estimator – MEP

Location: Hybrid (Office in Croydon)

Start: ASAP

We’re working with a small but established M&E contractor who are looking for an experienced Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to join their team and take a leading role in pricing and delivering projects.

This is a hands-on position for someone confident working autonomously and taking ownership of both pre- and post-contract duties. The business delivers a range of mechanical and electrical projects and is looking for someone who can bring commercial rigour, technical understanding, and the drive to help take the company to the next level.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the estimating and tendering process for M&E packages
• Prepare cost plans, bills of quantities, and tender submissions
• Manage commercial aspects throughout the project lifecycle (procurement, valuations, variations, final accounts)
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing and value engineering
• Oversee project financial performance and profitability
• Work closely with the directors to develop pricing strategies and improve internal processes

Requirements:

• Background in M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) contracting — ideally from a subcontractor or main contractor
• Strong understanding of JCT and NC contracts
• Confident in managing tenders and commercial delivery independently
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Able to thrive in a small business environment with direct responsibility and visible impact
