About the Company: Our Kent based client are Global Freight Forwarder, this position requires a highly motivated to supervise and encourage a team of x3.
About the Role: This role will be responsible for coordinating and managing the transportation of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the end-to-end freight forwarding process for air, sea, and land shipments.
- This include General Forwarding and assisting on Projects (as directed).
- Monitor and manage own jobs, with reference to operational and financial margins.
- Work under the guidance of Head of Projects – ensure effective communication through the projects supply chain.
- Communicate with clients, suppliers, and transport companies to ensure smooth and efficient shipment of goods.
- Delegate clearly and precisely with their Team.
- Prepare and process shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs declarations, and invoices.
- Monitor shipments to ensure they are on schedule and resolve any issues that arise.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and maintain relationships with logistics partners.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and support to clients, addressing inquiries and providing updates on shipment status.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to shipments.
- Ensure all Job detail data and documents are logged in the Cargowise system.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to Supervise work of x3 Operational team members and the use of Cargowise.
- Work with Team to ensure smooth operations of all modes of jobs/shipments.
- Take project work team meetings to discuss jobs, issues, training, targets, goals, changes.
- Help develop staff with skills in both Freight forwarding and systems.
- Ensure Cargowise is being used correctly by all staff and help given where needed.
- Report to management to discuss jobs, issues, training, targets, goals, changes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Ensure all WIP and Accruals are managed on all Jobs.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of international shipping regulations and procedures.
- Proactive, forward-thinking, and dynamic approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
- Commercially minded with a strong understanding of cost-effective shipping strategies.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Cargowise and be able to use this system efficiently and effectively.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Flexibility to handle changing priorities and meet deadlines.
