A highly ranked US law firm with a market-leading real estate platform is seeking a mid-level associate (3+ PQE) to join its Real Estate Finance (REF) team in London.

This is an exciting opportunity for a lawyer with strong transactional experience to join a lean, high-performing team working on some of the most sophisticated and international real estate financings in the market.

The role involves advising on both lender and borrower side mandates, often involving large-scale property portfolios, cross-border structures, and complex debt arrangements. You’ll work directly with senior partners who are recognised for their work on structured real estate finance, development financing, and private equity-backed real estate investments.

The Role

You will work across a broad range of real estate finance transactions, including:

• Acquisition financing for commercial, logistics, and mixed-use assets
• Development finance, including multi-jurisdictional projects and build-to-rent schemes
• Senior, mezzanine, and preferred equity structuring
• Debt funds and non-bank lenders on origination and syndication
• Real estate joint ventures and co-investment structures involving institutional investors
• Advising on intercreditor arrangements and security packages across multiple jurisdictions

You’ll be expected to run transactions day-to-day, manage client communications, lead on drafting and negotiation of key documents, and coordinate with local counsel across Europe and the Middle East where necessary.

About You

• England & Wales Qualified with 3+ years’ post-qualified experience in real estate finance from a top-tier UK, US, or international firm
• Strong understanding of LMA-based loan documentation and common security structures
• Comfortable acting for both lenders and borrowers, particularly private equity sponsors and institutional investors
• Experience handling cross-border transactions, ideally with European or Middle Eastern exposure
• Able to lead workstreams with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively across teams
• Commercially minded, solution-focused, and confident engaging with sophisticated clients
