Skilled Aircraft Fitter
Filton - onsite
12 months
£26.92 per hour Inside IR35

Our client, a global leader in aerospace, defence, and aviation manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Aircraft Fitter. To join our team, supporting the assembly of the A400M aircraft. This is a hands-on role ideal for experienced fitters or assembly operators with a background in engineering and a passion for precision work in the aerospace sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret engineering instructions and aircraft drawings
• Carry out fitting tasks to required standards, including drilling, shimming, and sealing using hand and power tools
• Perform 1st party certification following completion of relevant training courses
• Work in confined spaces (tank work), including physically demanding wing access and egress
• Champion Health & Safety standards at all times

Required Skills & Experience

• Completed a full engineering apprenticeship (e.g., Aircraft/Sheet Metal Worker, Fitter/Turner, Maintenance Technician, Tool Maker)
• Hold NVQ Level 2 & 3 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Previous experience as a Fitter/Assembly Operator, with confident use of hand tools
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces
