Assistant ER Absence Advisor- Maternity Cover 12 months
Your new role
You will be joining a team of talented, solution focussed and driven employee relations specialists. Our purpose is to support our managers to make Mitie a great place to work. We advise and coach managers in their management of ER cases, upholding fair and just policies in-line with legislation and best practice whilst balancing risk and commerciality to deliver the best results for our business.
This is a hybrid role normally 1 day per week in the office, (Birmingham) with flexible working available. We support continuous development including those who wish to continue or begin their CIPD studies.
What to Expect
- Management of your own caseload of absence management cases using your knowledge in ER and employment law, from receipt of a case through to its conclusion.
- Actively supporting and coaching People Managers to effectively manage short term and long-term absence cases to raise levels of attendance throughout the business.
- Provide HR advice in relation to HR absence management policy, practices & procedures.
- Acting as the Subject Matter Expert for absence within the ER team.
- Management of death-in-service cases, liaising with internal support departments and proactively supporting next of kin.
- Utilise technology, including our case management system, to remotely deliver a quality service to our customers.
- Exposure to a wide variety of contracts across many sectors, both public and private
- Be part of a wider customer service focussed People Support team, Mitie's central HR function
- Support with triaging ER cases received from the business
What we are looking for
- Employee Relations knowledge or keen interest in Employee Relations
- CIPD qualified or looking for the opportunity to be supported with your studies
- Proficient IT skills including MS Word and MS Excel.
- An understanding of HR systems would be an advantage.
- Keen interest in Employment Law.
- Strong understanding of and respect for confidentiality.
