About the Role:

The Ophthalmologist consultant will be responsible for assisting our team of medical writers to quickly get up to speed with the knowledge needed in the disease area and provide expert input to help validate content from both a scientific and technical view point.



Responsibilities:


  • Provide expert guidance to a team of medical writers within the field of Ophthalmology or Optometry.
  • Act as the 'expert' within the agency and go-to person for any disease area questions.
  • Review and validate medical content to ensure it is accurate.
  • Represent VML Health within client meetings focused on the disease area.



Required Skills:


  • Experience and expertise within gene therapy in ophthalmology.
  • Extensive medical writing experience within the disease area (wet AMD and dry AMD)
  • Strong communication skills and happy to be client facing (internal & external)
  • Ability to work on an ad-hoc part-time basis
  • Previous exposure to an advertising agency environment would be advantageous.
