Job description
Stoke City Foundation, the official charitable arm of Stoke City Football Club, has an exciting opportunity for a School Sport Development Lead to support its operations at the bet365 Stadium.
Reporting to the Schools Workforce Development Officer, you will play a vital role in our mission to improve lives through sport, physical activity, health and education for children and young people across our network of partner schools and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) settings.
This exciting opportunity will enable children and young people to access inspiring physical education and sporting opportunities, contributing to the wider Foundation’s success.
Main Responsibilities:
- Planning and delivering engaging PE and sport sessions.
- Supporting teachers through CPD to improve confidence and competence in PE delivery.
- Contributing to the strategic development of school sport provision.
- Supporting early childhood development through movement and play based learning.
- Undertaking relevant training and professional development.
- Recording all session activities and attendances using appropriate systems.
- Liaising effectively with school staff, parents/carers and other relevant agencies.
- Providing mentoring and guidance to teaching staff.
- Engaging pupils of varying ages, backgrounds and abilities.
- Collaborating with the School Sport Coordinator, Schools Workforce Development Officer and Education Manager to ensure alignment of delivery, quality assurance and strategic development of school sport programmes.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Excellent communication and motivational skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- A passion for developing participants and programmes.
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
- First aid and safeguarding qualifications are desirable.
- Experience in working towards targets and deadlines.
- Able to efficiently delegate role and responsibilities.
- Managing challenging and pressured situations.
