Professional Liability Associate (1-3 PQE) in Manchester

Your new company
Our client is an award-winning defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for a 1-3 PQE solicitor or chartered legal executive with previous professional liability experience to join their Manchester Professional Liability team. This is a hybrid position.

Your new role
This Professional Liability Associate role will see you:

• Manage a caseload of professional indemnity claims, including defending solicitors, accountants, surveyors, and a small amount of medical malpractice work.
• Support senior lawyers in large-scale, complex disputes.
• Advise clients on coverage issues, liability, and quantum.
• Draft pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct negotiations and attend mediations and settlement meetings.
• Liaise with clients, counsel, and experts to progress cases efficiently.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and client service standards.

What you'll need to succeed

• You must be a qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive with 1-3 years post-qualification experience.
• Previous experience handling or assisting in professional liability cases.
• Strong technical knowledge of civil procedure and professional liability principles.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple files and work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong client care and communication skills.
