VP - Legal Counsel (Clearing Lawyer) in City of London

Our client

Our client, a leading global financial institution, is seeking a Vice President, Legal Counsel (Clearing Lawyer) to join their EMEA Legal Department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will support the sponsored clearing infrastructure with respect to US treasury clearing.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on related transaction management and project management for Trading documentation (including GMRA, GMSLA, ISDA, CSA, IM and finance linked hedging documentation).
• Provide legal advice on US Treasury Clearing rules.
• Support the wider legal team on ad-hoc queries from the business.

Experience requirements

• Qualified lawyer (UK or equivalent jurisdiction) with at least five years’ PQE from a top law firm or major financial institution.

• Strong technical expertise in finance-linked derivatives and hedging.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists.
