Graduate Day Analyst – Runcorn


SRG are supporting a leading chemical manufacturer in Runcorn who are seeking a Graduate Day Analyst to join their Site Services / Analytical Labs team on a 6-month temporary contract.


This is a great opportunity for a recent Chemistry graduate to gain practical, hands-on laboratory experience in an ISO- and UKAS-accredited environment, working on a variety of analytical and process-related projects that directly support production and quality operations.


Location: Runcorn

Contract: Temporary (6 months)

Salary: ~£29,000

Hours: Day shift, full-time


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform analysis of process, safety, health, environmental, and product samples using documented standard methods.
  • Ensure analytical equipment and methods are maintained, calibrated, and compliant with ISO 9001 / UKAS 17025 standards.
  • Report and investigate analytical anomalies using prescribed quality procedures.
  • Carry out basic maintenance, calibration, and quality checks on lab instruments.
  • Support technical teams in resolving production or environmental issues through analytical testing.
  • Participate in training and maintain a strong understanding of lab safety (COSHH, risk assessments).


What We’re Looking For:

  • Degree (or HND) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
  • Strong practical laboratory and analytical skills
  • Data literate – confident using Microsoft Office
  • Excellent self-management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Available immediately and based locally to Runcorn
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Please note: candidates from a pharmaceutical background are not suitable for this role
