Head of Sales | Innovative Design-Led Scaleup | London


Harmonic are proud to have been retained by a disruptive design business in their search for a Head of Sales who will partner with the Founders to scale the business from £15m to £50m turnover. This role is well suited to a brilliant people-manager who is highly strategic and analytical, who thrives in a fast-growth, dynamic environment.


The Client


The nature of our clients revenue streams are diverse, with a focus on sustainability sourced and elegantly designed products, paired with a design service element. This role has been newly created in response to their continued growth. With a reporting line into the Founders, this role joins a scaleup which has experienced year-on-year growth, seeing turnover exceed £15m while maintaining a close-knit team of 25.


The business are a disruptive and values led consultancy, looking to transform the industry with best-in-class sustainable practices. Our ideal candidate will have a B2B sales background, extensive experience managing teams of 10+, a strong grasp of KPIs and experience setting up sales processes, navigating a high growth environment, and closely partnering with senior leadership.


The Role


There is a genuine opportunity for this Head of Sales to make their mark on their next phase of growth. This position will spearhead scaling within the sales function, management of a high calibre team, expansion into international markets, professionalising the sales function, improve processes, and support strategic decisions that drive profitability and growth.


You’ll work closely with the Head of New Business to onboard and manage new client accounts. Many of the business’s existing clients return for multiple projects, and you’ll play a key role in strengthening these relationships and driving retention through thoughtful sales strategies.


The business is entering an ambitious new phase, strengthening its structure, refining operations, and expanding its reach. This role will be central to that journey, offering genuine scope to influence the direction of the sales function and make a lasting impact on their continued growth.


Responsibilities


  • Lead, mentor, and develop the sales team, creating an environment that supports learning and accountability.
  • Design and embed effective KPIs, training pathways, and performance management tools.
  • Analyse data and use insights to forecast performance and guide decision-making.
  • Streamline sales processes and reporting to improve efficiency and consistency.
  • Manage key client relationships to ensure exceptional service delivery and drive retention.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to align the sales function with business strategy.
  • Contribute to company-wide planning and cultural development as part of the leadership team.
  • Champion collaboration, communication, and a people-first approach across the business.
  • Lead appraisals and establish development programmes for the team.



What the Client Would Like to See (Essential):

  • Proven experience leading and developing a B2B sales or client services team of 10+ people.
  • Prior experience in a Head of Sales, Head of Commercial, Head of Client Services, Head of Customer Success or Account Director or similar role.
  • A strong record of implementing KPIs, development plans, and measurable performance frameworks.
  • Experience in a medium-sized organisation, structured enough for accountability, agile enough for creativity.
  • A data-driven mindset with confidence using CRM and reporting tools.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with emotional intelligence at the core.
  • Pragmatic, hands-on, and commercially minded, with a collaborative approach to leadership.


What We Would Like to See (Non-Essential):

  • Experience within a fast-growth creative, project-based, or service-focused sector (e.g. Marketing, consultancy, tech, real estate, design, advertising, marketplace, or professional services).
  • Strong relationship management skills and a passion for delivering best-in-class service.
  • A natural coach who enjoys developing individuals and teams.
  • An appreciation for design, sustainability, or purpose-led business.


Location: London

Salary: £90,000 - £110,000 (+ £20,000 OTE bonus) + benefits

Start Date: Flexible
