Job Title: Account Handler

Location: Finchley (Office-based)

Salary: Up to £35,000


About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Account Handler to join a professional and growing insurance brokerage in Finchley. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, handling renewals, and ensuring all insurance requirements are met with accuracy and professionalism.

This is an excellent opportunity for an insurance professional who enjoys building strong client relationships, providing expert advice, and managing policies from start to finish.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain client insurance portfolios, acting as the primary point of contact for queries, renewals, and mid-term adjustments.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring exceptional service and client retention.
  • Handle policy enquiries, amendments, and renewals efficiently and accurately.
  • Liaise with underwriters and insurers to negotiate terms and secure competitive coverage.
  • Analyse clients’ risk profiles to identify gaps and recommend suitable insurance solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with FCA and industry regulations across all documentation.
  • Maintain organised and accurate electronic client files using Acturis.
  • Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities to support business growth.
  • Conduct peer quality checks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.


About You

  • Previous experience as an Account Handler, Insurance Advisor, or Broker Support within a brokerage environment.
  • Strong understanding of Personal Lines insurance products and underwriting principles.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with a client-first approach.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in policy management.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proficient with Acturis and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Team player with a professional, ethical approach to client service.


Desirable Qualifications

  • Progress toward or completion of Cert CII / Dip CII.
  • Experience handling Personal Lines insurance accounts.
