Selby Jennings is proud to partner with a globally recognised placement agent specialising in private markets. Our client is seeking a highly experienced and driven European Distribution Professional to join their team at Director or Managing Director level. This role is focused on fundraising and investor coverage across France and the Geneva region, with broader responsibilities across Europe and the UK. This role can be based in either London or Paris.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in originating and executing capital raising mandates for private market fund managers, including strategies across private equity, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure. This is a high-impact position offering significant visibility and responsibility within a dynamic and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fundraising Execution: Lead the marketing and distribution of private market fund offerings to institutional investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds.
  • Investor Coverage: Develop and maintain deep relationships with LPs across France and Geneva, acting as a trusted advisor and point of contact for investment opportunities.
  • Mandate Management: Support and execute fundraising mandates in coordination with internal teams and fund managers, ensuring alignment with client objectives and market dynamics.
  • Roadshow Coordination: Organise and attend investor meetings, roadshows, and events with fund managers to facilitate capital raising efforts.
  • Market Intelligence: Maintain and share insights on investor appetite, fundraising trends, and competitive landscape across private markets.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new fundraising opportunities and potential mandates through proactive outreach and relationship building with GPs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across origination, execution, and investor relations to deliver seamless service and maximise fundraising outcomes.
  • Thought Leadership: Represent the firm at industry events and contribute to thought leadership initiatives to enhance visibility and credibility in the market.

Candidate Profile

  • Industry Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in financial services, with a focus on capital raising, investor relations, or distribution within private markets.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in raising capital from institutional investors across Europe, particularly in France and Geneva.
  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of private market strategies including buyout, growth equity, venture capital, private credit, real estate, and infrastructure.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in French and English is essential; additional European languages are a plus.
  • Network: Well-established relationships with both GPs and LPs in the region.
  • Sales Acumen: Structured and strategic sales approach with strong follow-up, persistence, and ability to close.
  • Professionalism: High integrity, strong work ethic, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Team Fit: Collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
