Head of Data Centres (Development & Strategy)

Based anywhere in UK with some global travel

After a recent successful placement with the same client, Troi Search are delighted to be working once again with this Technology company, that specialises in providing high-performance, sustainable GPU cloud infrastructure for High-Performance Computing (HPC) workloads - in other words, provides the backbone that powers the surge in AI demand.


In this strategic leadership role, you’ll design and deliver a global data centre roadmap, scaling to multi-GW capacity to power next gen AI and HPC workloads.


What You’ll Do:


  • Define long-term data centre strategy and execution
  • Secure large-scale facilities (25MW+) through innovative partnerships
  • Negotiate deals, validate sites, and set technical standards
  • Work closely with the CEO and CFO on creative funding models


This isn’t just infrastructure it’s enabling commercial growth through world-class partnerships and bold strategies.


What we're looking for:


  • Deep expertise in data centre design, construction, and operations (electrical, mechanical, cooling, IT infrastructure).
  • Strong technical knowledge of large-scale AI/HPC deployments—power density, liquid cooling, high-speed networking.
  • Proven track record in hyperscale strategy and investment roadmaps (multi-GW programs).
  • Skilled in capacity planning, energy efficiency, sustainability, and resilience frameworks.
  • Experience structuring innovative commercial deals—partnerships, co-investment, alternative financing.
  • Ability to source and secure large-scale facilities (25MW+) through partnerships or development.
  • Managed multi-million-pound projects and complex vendor relationships at executive level.
