Role Overview

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented personnel to join as an Assistant Merchandiser, to help drive the running of merchandising operations. This a key role, ensuring stock integrity, pricing and trade reporting are accurate and scalable. You will work closely alongside all areas of business, with a focus on buying, finance and trading teams as you look to influence efficiency across product flow whilst helping scale the business through implementing further reporting and analytical thinking.


This role is ideal for a someone with an analytical background with an eye for detail who is looking to develop in a collaborative, start up environment. This role offers the scale of merchandising from planning to performance management.


Key Responsibilities


Reporting and Analysis

• Responsible for the running of Monday trade reports prior to weekly trade meeting, ranging from weekly maker and category performance to continuity reorder tracker.

• Maintenance of Top 200 Skus – reviewing on quarterly basis alongside senior merchandiser and buying team to ensure visibility and maximising the potential of the key product drivers.

• Work alongside Senior Merchandiser on scalable reporting focuses and transferring onto ERP systems – ranging from category WSSIs to line level reorder

templates


Pricing

• Own pricing process from initial price onwards, working alongside buying team to ensure initial price across all currencies is correct for product launches, whilst capturing pricing specifics such as RRPs.

• Responsible for pricing uploads across systems.

• Review margins on reoccurring basis, with a focus on flagging and amending anomaly, low and high margin products to drive pricing integrity.

• Ensuring pricing alignment across product families.

• Quarterly competitive pricing analysis - reviewing the market view for makers to understand and present back trends and opportunities.


Stock integrity and invoice management

• Ownership of the breakdown of the business stock position, working alongside the wider business to bridge the gap between stock in the business and stock sellable online.

• Oversee posted and not posted invoicing process for buying and merchandising team. Working alongside the buying admin assistant, this role will be the immediate escalation point for inbound issues tied to credit notes, damages and managing invoices with makers.


Range development

• Management of the Stock Swap and RTV process – work alongside senior merchandiser and buying team to drive stock swaps proposals on high stocked goods whilst managing end to end process of getting the goods back to the maker and credited with finance in timely manner.

• Responsible for working alongside client services team on special orders, raising purchase orders in timely manner.

• Ownership of selection of product categories, working alongside the relevant buyer to review new makers and category expansion buys through using historical data to understand growth opportunities.


Alongside the above there will also be additional tasks as required by the business from

time to time.


Skills & Experience Required

• Analytical background with strong numerical ability with keen attention to detail

• Proficiency in EXCEL (formulas, v/xlookups, pivots, reporting) and confidence in ERP systems

• Well-organised, proactive and able to manage priorities in start up environment

• Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with confidence in negotiation.

• Commercial awareness with an analytical mindset to drive sales and profitability.
