PLANNER ROLES


At P&DG, we’re a multidisciplinary team of Planners, Urban Designers, and Heritage Consultants working across the UK. Our projects span a range of scales and sectors, planning applications, master planning, regeneration, planning appeals, EIA, public engagement, site promotion and education; all with a shared focus on delivering positive and creative planning outcomes.


With a long-standing reputation and a diverse portfolio of public and private clients, sectors, geographic reach, and extensive existing workload we’re now looking to expand our Planning capabilities. To support this growth, we’re seeking talented Senior/Principal Planners and an Associate-level Planner to join our team and help shape the next chapter of P&DG’s success.

OUR REQUIREMENTS


Support new and existing client projects across a wide range of sectors and geographic spread. Maintain client relationships and provide support as part of a team to colleagues on larger scale and complex projects. Typical workload includes: involvement in appraisals, planning applications, strategic planning, community consultation, local plan promotion, negotiating, project management, client presentations and appeal work.


Starting off handling smaller scale planning applications, with on the job mentoring and training, there is opportunity for promotion to Senior Planner and for contributing towards business development.


  • Networking and business development

  • Securing client repeat business and some self-generated new projects/client leads, partial generation of some workload
  • Practice promotion and marketing
  • Presentations to secure new projects
  • Supported professional development across multiple aspects of the planning system
  • Gain RTPI accreditation if not already done so

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & CAPABILITIES


  • Senior Planner – 1 – 2 years’ minimum professional experience working in the public or private sector
  • Hold a valid UK Driving Licence
  • Urban Design and masterplanning understanding would be beneficial
  • Whilst not necessary, the potential to bring along new clients or contacts may be useful
