The Opportunity

We’re supporting a growing specialist lender in their search for an experienced Bridging Finance Underwriter. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing underwriting team where you’ll take ownership of cases from initial application through to completion, playing a key role in delivering fast and commercial lending decisions.

What You’ll Do

As Underwriter, you’ll manage a diverse caseload, applying sound judgement and analytical thinking to deliver high-quality underwriting decisions.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing the full lending process from application to drawdown
  • Assessing bridging loan applications and analysing creditworthiness
  • Preparing detailed credit proposals for Credit Committee
  • Reviewing valuation reports and due diligence documentation
  • Drafting offer documents and ensuring conditions are satisfied pre-completion
  • Liaising with brokers, solicitors, valuers, surveyors and internal teams to progress cases
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and producing reports when required
  • Managing expectations professionally and providing updates to all stakeholders
  • Supporting continuous improvement across underwriting processes


What You’ll Bring

  • Proven underwriting experience within bridging or specialist lending
  • Strong understanding of property-based lending, B2B underwriting and risk assessment
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Analytical mindset with the confidence to make informed decisions
  • A proactive, problem-solving mentality and a commitment to great customer outcomes
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment


Nice to Have

  • Experience in financial services operations or specialist lending environments
  • Exposure to both regulated and unregulated lending
  • Appetite to learn, grow and contribute to process improvements
