The Role

As a Night Factory Hygiene Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring that our facility meets the highest cleanliness standards. This role is crucial in supporting our production process and ensuring the safety and quality of our products.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Use both physical and chemical methods to clean machinery and equipment parts
• Understand how to set up and strip all factory equipment
• Operate equipment at a basic level
• Maintain species and allergen controls at all times
• Ensure routine panel/belt removal and periodic cleaning follow the schedule
• Deep clean production lines according to the schedule
• Be aware of chemical safety, correct concentrations, and required PPE; follow all health and safety parameters
• Report any housekeeping issues to your Line Manager
• Minimise waste wherever possible
• Report variations from hygiene procedures to your Manager
• Report any damage or maintenance needs to Engineering or the Hygiene Manager
• Complete Daily Control Sheets
• Cover electric motors and sockets before cleaning and remove covers afterward
• Assist in dismantling machinery
• Help control water usage
• Carry out corrective actions within agreed timeframes
• Remove and dispose of waste in compactors or skips
• Support QA pre-production audits and complete any corrective actions
• Follow lock-off procedures for high-risk machinery
• Assist in training and developing others
