Financial Controller in Coventry

Job description

As a Financial Controller, you will play a key role in supporting senior leadership and helping the organisation meet important financial targets. You will oversee accurate financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and provide clear performance insights.

You will also lead a team, support their development, and guide the implementation and monitoring of financial compliance practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide financial support and oversight to the wider management team.
• Ensure all internal and external financial reports are accurate, complete, and delivered on schedule.
• Manage month-end activities, including reviewing and explaining variances.
• Prepare and present budgets and forecasts covering profit and loss, cash flow, and balance sheet.
• Lead and develop the finance team.
• Track key financial indicators and support improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
• Strengthen internal controls and drive continuous improvement across financial processes.

Key Requirements

• Fully qualified accountant with several years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong background in finance or accounting within an operational or production-based environment.
• Confident working with financial systems and advanced spreadsheets.
• Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work under pressure.
