The opportunity

The successful candidate will lead the full finance function of a business currently operating under a leveraged structure, delivering robust financial governance, investor reporting and covenant compliance.

  • Manage relationships with lenders, investors and the Board, ensuring timely delivery of covenant reporting and investor-level financial information.
  • Drive strategic financial planning and value-creation initiatives aligned to PE ownership goals.
  • Support commercial decision-making through analysis of profitability, working capital and operational metrics.
  • Prepare the business for exit: lead vendor due diligence, data room preparation, transaction planning and execution.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team to support scaling operations.
  • Ideal candidate profile

Key requitements

  • Prior CFO experience in a private equity-backed business generating £10m+ EBITDA.
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated success in delivering at least one successful PE exit (trade sale, secondary buyout or IPO).
  • Deep experience operating in LBO environments, including covenant compliance, debt and lender management.
  • Strong financial modelling, forecasting and commercial finance capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills at Board and investor level, with the ability to influence strategy and execution.
  • Hands-on, commercially minded, and capable of leading under pressure in a fast-moving PE context.
