Job description

We are seeking a motivated and commercially aware Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team delivering a major multi-phase residential development near Croydon. Role Overview

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support the commercial team throughout the full project lifecycle. You will assist with procurement, cost control, financial reporting, and coordination with subcontractors to ensure the project is delivered to the highest quality and commercial standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing cost plans, estimates, and tender packages
• Support the procurement process, including issuing enquiries and evaluating subcontractor quotations
• Help manage valuations, variations, and cost reporting
• Maintain accurate commercial records and documentation
• Attend site meetings and contribute to progress assessments
• Work collaboratively with site teams, design teams, and subcontractors
• Support the preparation of monthly commercial reports and forecasts

About You

• Degree or working towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Previous experience in a QS or commercial role within construction is advantageous
• Strong numerical skills and an analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and organisation abilities
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with QS or cost management software is beneficial
