Meraki Talent are delighted to be partnering with an expanding Glasgow firm, who are looking to appoint a number of Senior Compliance professionals for a newly established team.

The team will operate as an independent second line of defence, providing specialist advice and support to senior management, business lines and functional teams. Applicants should have gained experience within assurance, monitoring, market abuse, financial security, and regulatory engagement.

This role will require applicants to deliver testing, reviews and control across a number of business areas, while contributing to the planning and execution of risk-based reviews, provide constructive challenge to first line control frameworks, and ensure clear, impactful reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support planning for independent testing using risk assessments, incidents, regulatory updates and other relevant data.
  • Conduct testing, reviews and control verifications
  • Maintain comprehensive audit trails across all stages of testing, reporting and action plan tracking.
  • Challenge the design, applicability and effectiveness of first line controls.
  • Deliver high-quality outputs within deadlines, allowing for internal review prior to final reporting.
  • Prepare clear and detailed review reports, outlining findings and agreed actions.
  • Share results with compliance and business stakeholders and support challenge discussions.
  • Work closely with colleagues across Compliance to share insights and support continuous improvement.
  • Assist first line teams in strengthening their control frameworks.

Applicants should have come from a compliance role within financial services, with a strong understanding of compliance principles, risk-based testing methodologies and control applicability. It is essential applicants have knowledge of global markets, banking, securities services or treasury products, as well as a good working understanding of the UK regulatory framework. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate findings into clear recommendations are a prerequisite for this role.
