The role


As a Client Partner you will lead the strategic direction of client partnerships, guiding account and creative teams to deliver high-impact, high-value work that drives measurable outcomes. You will champion a culture of growth, cross-functional working to empower colleagues to identify and pursue new business opportunities while ensuring excellence in client service delivery to go beyond the client brief.

You will serve as the senior point of contact for key clients, accountable for the planning, execution, and performance of a diverse portfolio of global projects. Your leadership ensures that all deliverables are strategically aligned, delivered to the highest standards, and contribute to long-term client success.

As a member of the Leadership Team, you will lead by example—demonstrating the behaviours and decision-combining creative strategic thinking and creative solutions with effective resource management in partnership with the Senior Programme Director (where appropriate) to ensure operational efficiency, growth across client accounts, and profitability across the business. Your influence will extend across teams, shaping how the agency responds to client needs and market opportunities.

You will play a critical role in business development, driving organic growth, leading strategic pitches, and helping to shape the agency’s positioning within the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. Your insights and leadership will help evolve the agency’s offering and ensure it remains competitive and forward-thinking.


Key Responsibilities

  • Define the vision for client relationship excellence
  • Lead transformation of client engagement strategies
  • Represent the agency in global client partnerships
  • Demonstrate an intimate understanding of client products, therapy areas, portfolio, and commercial strategy
  • Establish and reinforce relationships with key client personnel, primarily marketing, medical, and procurement teams
  • Drive strategic innovation across the agency
  • Lead strategic transformation initiatives
  • Build and maintain relationships with global stakeholders
  • Direct and ensure support to the wider client services team on client or project-related meetings and encourage colleagues to work collaboratively in progressing work. Empower the Account Director to lead in most project-related work
  • Shape long-term business growth strategy
  • Lead global expansion and market entry initiatives
  • Lead high-impact business development efforts
  • Business growth – supporting business unit leads on new business opportunities and winning new projects to expand our offering, being part of pitches and ideation to drive an integrated approach to comms strategy and tactical ideas
  • Be responsible and accountable for securing and retaining business by providing professional, consultative, proactive, and strategic support and ideas
  • Proactively sell agency services that are innovative, visible and profitable, as well as create and develop opportunities for growing business within existing accounts
  • Direct, guide, and where necessary, deliver on new business pitches
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of new business pitches
  • Keep up to date with issues/events/changes in the external environment that could impact new and existing business opportunities
  • Be able to demonstrate an understanding of how the agency strategy cascades into operational delivery plans to strengthen the relationship with our clients
  • Partner with the wider Havas Health network to help secure larger business wins
  • Ensure financial sustainability and growth
  • In conjunction with the agency leadership team, ensure input into revenue forecasts with submissions based on sound financial trends and experience
  • Oversee and manage account/project resource (based on fee projections), profitability, forecasting and revenue to maximise growth opportunities
  • Lead organizational development and talent strategy
  • Provide effective coaching as required to ensure your direct reports/team are able to carry out their duties to the best of their ability, and encourage a positive working environment


The person


  • Experience working in the medical communications sector
  • Track record of strategic client leadership, including C-Suite relationship management
  • Commercial acumen with experience in revenue management and business growth
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams
  • Strategic problem-solving capabilities across a wide range of client and business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to win new business and drive organic growth
  • Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
