Job Title: Process Improvement and Operational Excellence Lead

To facilitate this change, we are looking to fill the role of Process Improvement and Operational Excellence Lead to provide significant support across the organisation to develop a culture of process improvement, lead challenging problem solving projects (in conjunction with our technical, product and data teams), help coach our leaders around operational excellence, and mentor more junior colleagues in the development of their own process improvement skill sets.

This role will work in partnership with all ClarusONE teams and report directly into the Director of Process Improvement and Business Execution. This is a high-profile role, ideal for someone with a great understanding of how to deliver process improvement, enable operational excellence and help evolve an already good improvement culture to being great.

Responsibilities:

Improve efficiency and controls in existing processes

  • End to end process mapping, coordinating with connected functions to ensure processes are aligned
  • Improve process efficiency by identifying opportunities to eliminate unnecessary activities, reallocate work to the most appropriate owner, identifying opportunities to leverage technology
  • Support the determination and consensus on RACIs and RAPIDs
  • Oversee any changes that are identified, partnering with technology teams where feasible, supporting our people to bring technology into their ways of working
  • Work with other enabling teams (such as product, technical and data) to create new ways of working
  • Establish processes with a digital first mindset
  • Work with teams to take them through the classic TPS approach of “standardise, optimise and transform” to step up new business processes and support them in their journey to automation and digitisation, with the intent of best utilising our people’s capabilities
  • Support other enabling teams to operationalise the impacts they are having on the business to drive enterprise objectives
  • Run change projects that have a strong process or performance bias
  • Lead change projects, reporting to the LT and supporting inputs into the board
  • Identify opportunities with teams, prioritise with relevant stakeholders and drive execution to handover to BAU, ensuring alignment to strategic goals
  • Support the stepping up of governance cycles, working across the full life cycle of own PI projects, and coaching other team members in best practice
  • Support the roll out of a culture of Process Improvement and Operational Excellence
  • Support and lead elements of the culture roll out programme, working with stakeholders to identify their needs and the business’s baseline across key areas
  • Help design and iterate the programme throughout roll out


Basic/Required Skills:

  • Project management experience (technology experience preferred)
  • Process Improvement experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, LCS 2a/2b or equivalent QBE


Preferred Skills:

  • Process redesign/creation experience – lean six sigma or LCS preferable
  • Well organised, process and team-oriented with the ability to prioritize quickly.
  • Highly motivated self-starter: ability to initiate and manage work with sense of urgency.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced, results driven environment that is constantly changing.
  • Ability to build and maintain long term relationships. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills and able to work with all levels of management and internal/external customers to get results quickly – able to communicate complex data to stakeholders in a simplified and action-oriented manner
  • Highly motivated self-starter; ability to initiate and manage work with minimal supervision
  • Digital fist mindset
  • Prince 2, Pmbok, MPS etc
  • Pharmaceutical experience useful
