About The Role:

Days of Working: Ideally 07.00-16.00 with 1hr unpaid lunch although there may be some flexibility

This role is being offered on an initial 3 month fixed term.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To effectively manage all OCS sub-contracted services at UKHSA ensuring that they engage with contractor teams when attending site to ensure all the necessary permits and risk are in place before work commences.
  • Support the Soft Services Manager in completing weekly and monthly audits of services delivered by OCS teams, identifying and supporting close-out of any corrective actions identified
  • Support the Soft Services Manager to ensure the contracted services are delivered to the agreed contract specification and standards
  • Respond to any service requests raised by UKHSA staff to ensure they are allocated to the correct teams or contractors
  • Responsible for managing control of consumable items held on site
  • Ensure that the Cleaning Team are working to risk and COSHH assessments and reporting any safety hazards or issues to the Soft Services Manager
  • Ensure that training records are in place for everyone in the Team and are kept up to date
  • Support the Soft Services Manager with cleaning rotas and deep cleaning schedules
  • Support the Soft Services Manager at Daily Start up Meetings with the Team including delivery of Tool Box Talks
  • Complete regular PPE checks and task assessments


Qualifications & Skills:

  • Well presented with excellent communication skills and be able to pass a basic test of spoken and written English language
  • Preferable knowledge and experience of industry cleaning techniques, although this can be offered as training
  • Preferable knowledge and experience of apply good health and safety practices – understanding and working to risk assessments and method statements, identifying and reporting hazards and near misses. Training will be provided on OCS health and safety systems and processes
  • Able to plan and prioritise work schedules
  • Excellent customer service skills; the ability to communicate professionally and positively with the Client, customers and colleagues
  • Able to demonstrate a good understanding of IT skills – sending emails, input onto excel, etc
