Principal Commercial Officer

Location: Stevenage

Hybrid: 2–3 days per week

Salary: £50,000

The Opportunity

A leading European defence organisation is seeking a skilled Principal Commercial Officer to support vital programmes delivering advanced defence capability to the UK Armed Forces and key international customers. This role plays a critical part at the front end of the product lifecycle, contributing to research, technology development, business winning and contract delivery.

Required Skills/Experience

• Security Clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK (British citizenship essential)
• Advanced negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience managing complex, high-value contracts
• Strong understanding of contract law and commercial principles
• Ability to draft, adapt and negotiate contractual terms & conditions
• Knowledge of liabilities, risk mitigation and change management
• Awareness of Intellectual Property, Export Controls and licensing requirements
• Commercial acumen from customer through to supplier
• Ability to interpret and work with pricing and costing models
• Strong process, governance and commercial administration capability
• Proficient in IT and business systems (SAP experience highly desirable)

Benefits Package

• Base Salary: Circa £50,000 (DoE)
• Annual Bonus: Up to £2,500
