Job description

Ready for a challenge?

Then Just Eat Takeaway.com might be the place for you. We’re a leading global online delivery platform, and our vision is to empower everyday convenience. Whether it’s a Friday-night feast, a post-gym poke bowl, or grabbing some groceries, our tech platform connects tens of millions of customers with hundreds of thousands of restaurant, grocery and convenience partners across the globe.

About This Role

Just Eat Takeaway is seeking an experienced writer to join its small, yet high-performing UX (user experience) writing team. You will be tasked with providing the finest hand-crafted artisanal interface copy for our customer, partner, and courier products. The role involves working across all areas of our products, from onboarding to post-order customer care.

You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, including designers, product managers, call centre managers, and software developers. If you are excited about getting your words in front of millions of customers, partners, and hard-working couriers, this opportunity is for you.

These are some of the key components to the position:

  • Help create the best possible user experience for people using our products.
  • Take ownership of a key UX writing resource, such as the style guide or termbank, ensuring it is regularly updated and fit for purpose.
  • Get to grips with our tone of voice and act as an ambassador for it.
  • Build a network of contacts across the business and be an advocate for good UX copy.
  • Contribute to the team's ways of working and help shape its future.
  • Be determined - you will be providing artisanal interface copy for customer, partner, and courier products.
  • Own your results - work across all areas of our products, from onboarding to post-order customer care.
  • Raise the bar by collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including designers and software developers.

What will you bring to the team?

  • You know the difference between 'license' and 'licence' and which one's which.
  • The incorrect use of apostrophes gets you hot under the collar.
  • You enjoy having a conversation with people through the written word.
  • Managing multiple stakeholders, projects, and deadlines at once doesn't faze you.
  • You're as comfortable writing to a character count as you are a word count.
  • You view AI as a tool to enhance human creativity, not replace it.
  • You've got at least three years' relevant experience under your belt.
  • You have a passion for writing and helping people with a few well-chosen words.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills across the business.
